What's on the box, and what it's worth
The market for anti-dust mite devices is full of big promises and little evidence. These are the five statements you encounter most often.

Frequently asked questions
Can't I just use my own vacuum cleaner?
That's possible, but go through the four questions above. Without a vibrating plate or rotating brush, you mainly clean the surface, and without a demonstrable filter class, you might blow fine allergens back into the room.
What exactly does class H13 mean?
H13 is a HEPA class within EN 1822. An H13 filter captures at least 99.95% of the most difficult to capture particle sizes (MPPS, around 0.10–0.25 µm). Our filter medium achieved 99.97%.
And a steam cleaner?
Heat kills mites, but steam introduces moisture into a mattress that dries slowly—and moisture is precisely what dust mites need. Furthermore, the allergen remains even after the mites are killed.
How often should I replace the filter?
Rinse it monthly under the tap and let it dry completely. Replace it every six months—a saturated filter reduces both suction and filtration.

Why "HEPA" on the box is not enough
Anyone can use the word HEPA. A claim like "99% down to 0.3 micron" sounds good, but means little unless it is clear under what conditions that was measured. EN 1822 tests a filter specifically for the most difficult particle size to capture — the MPPS, around 0.10 to 0.25 µm. Particles of that size slip through most easily. If a filter performs well there, it performs well everywhere.
Therefore, ask every supplier for three things: the standard, the class, and a report number with the testing institute. If you only receive a percentage, you are buying a promise instead of a performance. Our report and measured values are available online.
What to look for when emptying
A filter can be excellent while the device still allows dust to pass through, namely along the edges or when emptying the reservoir. Therefore, empty it outside or into a sealed waste bag, not into the kitchen bin. Rinse the filter monthly and let it dry completely before putting it back.
